Criminal background check question?

I am completing paperwork for a position with Chase bank. One of the questions is about being convicted of a theft. I was convicted 15 years ago of a class c misdeamener theft for $0 - $20.00. Though I have tried to get this expunged, sealed, and set aside I cannot seem to do so in Texas becouse of the conviction, i've spoken to several lawyers. So my question is this, do I have any chance at all of being hired in an administrative position, not in the bank, with this on my record. It is the only thing on it and it was a small amount 15 years ago. Is it the banks policy becouse of the FDIC or is there any leaway for the hiring managers to decide to go ahead and give me the job?

While there are many sources to search criminal backgrounds, some are not linked to each other or have incomplete information. You can still do a criminal background search criminal, however you may end up with information that is not complete if you decide to do it yourself unless you are aware of the best sources.

Let's look at a list of some of the best sources to search criminal backgrounds:

#1. Search engines provide a good start by inputting the name or address, and maybe some information will come up, but it may not be complete. It will give you a general idea if the person is a criminal IF you find something, but if you don't, then you still don't know if you have a complete criminal background search or not.

#2. Many states and counties have their own websites where you can search a criminal background, but others may not. If you know the past locations of where your subject has been, you may be able to search their criminal background directly, but you must know all locations the person has lived, visited or worked for this to be considered an accurate source.

#3. The U.S. Federal Prison Database is another source to do search criminal backgrounds on inmates, and a limited archive of past inmates, parolees, and probationary criminals. If you know a person is in this class, you may be able to search their criminal background to obtain the information you need to make a hiring or personal decision based on their record.

#4. The Highway Patrol of each State has sources to search criminal backgrounds, but you need to know all the places an individual has been to know where to search for their criminal background with this source.

#5. The U.S. Department of Justice National Sex Offenders Database requires convicted sex offenders to be registered, but usually searching criminal background results do not list outstanding warrants and arrests until they become convictions. If an offender went on the run before the court date, they are presumed innocent until proven guilty and therefore will probably not be listed on any databases, to avoid any future liabilities for defamation of character.
